10 Things to do after a car wreck.

1. Ensure Safety: First and foremost, prioritize safety. Move to a safe location away from traffic if possible. Turn on hazard lights and use warning devices like cones or triangles to alert other drivers.

2. Check for Injuries: Assess yourself and others involved for any injuries. If there are serious injuries, call emergency services immediately.

3. Contact the Police: Regardless of the accident's severity, it's important to report it to the police. They will document the incident and provide an accident report that may be necessary for insurance claims.

4. Exchange Information: Exchange contact and insurance information with the other driver(s) involved. Note down their name, address, phone number, license plate number, and insurance details.

5. Document the Scene: Take photos or videos of the accident scene, including the damage to the vehicles, skid marks, and any other relevant details. This evidence can be valuable when dealing with insurance companies.

6. Gather Witness Information: If there were witnesses to the accident, collect their contact information. Their statements may support your version of events if there is a dispute.

7. Notify Your Insurance Company: Report the accident to your insurance company as soon as possible. Provide them with the necessary information and ask about the claims process.

8. Seek Medical Attention: Even if you don't feel injured immediately, it's advisable to get a medical evaluation. Some injuries, such as whiplash or internal injuries, may not be apparent right away.

9. Keep Track of Expenses: Document all expenses related to the accident, such as medical bills, vehicle repairs, car rental costs, and towing fees. This information will be useful for insurance claims.

10. Consult an Attorney (if necessary): If you've suffered significant injuries, your insurance claim is complex, or liability is disputed, it may be wise to consult an attorney specializing in personal injury or car accidents.

Remember, these steps are general guidelines, and the specific actions you should take may vary depending on your location and the severity of the accident. It's always a good idea to consult with local authorities or legal professionals for advice in your specific situation.
